2017 NSPS STUDENT COMPETITION INSTRUCTIONS AND INFORMATION

 

INTRODUCTION: The 2017 NSPS Student Competition will be held on Monday, March 13, 2017 in conjunction with the NSPS Spring Meetings to be held in the Washington DC area. Details about the conference will be forthcoming. 

 

As with 2016, there will be two separate judging divisions, one for students matriculated into Associates degree programs and one for students matriculated into Baccalaureate degree problems. 

 

PRE-NOTIFICATION: To facilitate communications, all teams planning to participate in the 2017 NSPS Student Competition must submit the Pre-Notification Form to the Competition Coordinator:  A. Richard Vannozzi, MS, PLS to notify NSPS of their intentions to participate in the competition.  The following Pre-Notification Form should be completed, scanned and sent via email to Mr. Vannozzi as a PDF at the below email address on or before November 1, 2016.

The topic for the 2017 competition is: High-Precision Vertical Control Applications and consists of a Project, Project Binder (containing the Project documentation), Poster and Oral Presentation.   These four elements shall be related as a cohesive applied, professional, practice based, scientific/research project.

Governance: The National Society of Professional Surveyors Inc. is governed by a Board of Directors. The NSPS Board of Directors meets twice per year.   NSPS has working agreements with state surveying organizations which are represented on the NSPS Board of Directors, and with the NSPS Foundation, Inc.
